After a breakout year in 2013, including the release of their highly anticipated self-titled debut album in October, sold out east coast tour dates and the Best Regional Act award at the inaugural The Age Music Victoria Awards, Melbourne-based rock outfit Stonefield continue their impressive trajectory in 2014, with latest single "Love You Deserve" and accompanying national tour dates.

This riff-rocking trio rocked our socks off last year, so we're bringing them back! Things are skyrocketing for Melbourne’s Dallas Frasca since the release of their successful sophomore album (recorded in New York City with Australian producer Andy Baldwin), Sound Painter. They've toured the U.K, Europe (signing a record deal with successful French label, VERYCORD (Skunk Anansie, Triggerfinger) and Canada.
While fans and critics have always focused on his guitar skills, Lloyd has come of age as a composer and lyricist. His 2005 release, “Tall Stories” was quickly recognized as a breakthrough recording for him and proves him to be an integral part of Australia’s ever-changing Blues music style. The follow-up, “Timber & Steel” was an entirely solo affair that mixed his considerable song-writing skills together with his exceptional acoustic guitar expertise.
Sassy blues mama Lil’ Fi fronts a swarm of award-winning divas formed exclusively for the Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues Fest. There’s Ali “she gotta lotta soul” Penney on piano, the phenomenal fingerpickin’ Fiona Boyes on guitar, honey drippin’ Sweet Felicia on bass, the vivacious Cara Robinson on drums, and the evocative Martha Baartz on saxophone. Together they are the East Coast Queen Bees.
Out of the Mountains Show and Still in the Mountains Show albums (MGM) released 2012/2013 have captured the Goat’s passion for traditional Appalachian mountain music combined with a desire to present this music in a unique, modern and quirky way. They perform their own arrangements of traditional songs from 1710 through to the 1940’s with an energetic edge featuring banjo, bones, mandolin, double bass, guitars, fiddle, harmonica, tin whistle, tap dancing, four part harmonies and comedy.
Named by folk-blog Timber and Steel as ‘Janis Joplin and Ben Harper’s love-child’, Cass Eager’s mix of raw blues, husky soul and lighthearted ditties are all punctuated with her unique whisky-soaked vocals. Emotive, slightly raspy, at times tender and at times powerful – Eager’s voice is the driving force of her music.
Lighting up the Australian blues scene, The Bella Reunion have a rich shared history spanning nearly 20 years. Steeped in the legacy of Chicago and Memphis blues with the timeless emotional spirit of the great Stax and Motown soul legends, this blistering original four-piece comprises of virtuoso blues guitarist and two time Chain award winner Harvey, drummer Toby Baron (Ray Davies), bassist Jez Klysz (Natural Ball) and QLD Music Award nominee Alan Boyle on vocals. Also featuring special guest Steve Russell on keys.

Radioutkast is fronted by Rupert Topple and a Felisha Norr backed by the tight rhythm section of Lachlan Wallace and Mike Day. The band have been hard at work polishing off a new set of original songs and recording their debut EP. It is a confronting account of life, love and mistakes hemmed together through Felisha's 21st century Joplin soul and Rupert's rolling guitar.
These guys literally had us all howling for more at last year's festival, so we're bringing them back - bigger and badder than ever! Phil Barlow and The Wolf recorded a new album off the back of their 2013 East Coast tour, due for release later this year. They tell us they're unleashing a new wave of rock and blues on Mitchell Creek!
Hat Fitz & Cara’s performance of live music is seeped in authentic realism. This dynamic duo is a unique combination that have skillfully combined their music of hill style country blues with old time folk. Their material is original yet crosses the boundaries as if written from a time once forgotten.
Everyone's favourite brother duo the Pierce Brothers have released a new single ‘It's My Fault'! The Melbourne-based two-piece, who have amassed a huge cult following, have recently sold out shows at Cherry Bar, Ding Dong Lounge and the Westernport, and will be touring Europe in August to return to Australia’s hottest new music Festival around “Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival” in September.
Described as dynamic, vibrant and refreshingly different, with the full power of a band you will be enchanted, enraptured and entertained by the KNiKi+Mike Beale Project. You loved them last year and with a new album under their belts you'll love them even more this year on the Mitchell Creek stage.
Drawing influences from (and inevitably comparisons to) the likes of The Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and Wolfmother, SE Queensland's MOTHWING are an international sounding rock band, yet still as Aussie as pluggers. This high energy group has an explosive repertoire that will captivate your attention until the end of the show.
Mojo’s live solo performances are top shelf blues experiences, as real and powerful as can be found anywhere. His unique and engaging stage presence combines effortlessly with his incendiary, original vocal style and masterful finger-style guitar work. Mojo controls the stage - imploring, preaching, boasting, and crying the blues.
The Walters detonate with the sort of crazed enthusiasm and raw authenticity thought lost, since the demise of the famed dance halls and jukes of the 1940s & 50s. Drawing their inspiration from the Blues patriarchs, Soul legends and Rock ‘n’ Roll masters of the mid 20th century, The Walters play a music that is as powerful and relevant today as it was in its golden era.
