2011 ARIA Blues and Roots nominees and I-Tunes Australian Blues and Roots album of the year winners, Backsliders have been playing, touring the festival circuit and recording for 27 years. The latest release (due March 2014) ‘Dark Side’, their 13th to date, features their trademark driving Delta and Mississippi Hill country blues sounds mixed in with original 21st Century new blues anthems.
Dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ, a player who can pump, pamper and occasionally pound the most unbelievable sounds from a keyboard: sounds that are intense, ferocious and sometimes transcendent.

The Urban Chiefs are one of the hardest working roots rock bands in OZ. Lovers of psychedelic, blues slide guitar, insane percussive grooves, whisky sour vocals and powerhouse soul mama backing will love these guys!
No strangers to the Mitchell Creek stage these favourites deliver gritty, bluesy notes and tones; rocky guitar riffs with funk/reggae flavours that will have you howling for more...literally! This year, the guys will be bringing a brand new album for your hungry ears too.
The Soul Men are an all live, 11 piece band specialty Blues Brothers Tribute Show, with lines from the movies, choreographed dancing, and faithful reproductions of music from the movies and albums in a fast paced, power packed show. These guys always go down a treat, we love them at Mitchell Creek and so will you!

Australian Blues guitarist and singer, Fiona Boyes, has been variously described by reviewers as a ‘musical anomaly’, ‘Bonnie Raitt’s evil twin’, or simply as ‘scaring the hell out of me’. How did this fair-haired gal, born and raised in Melbourne, Australia become an internationally recognised and awarded recording and touring artist?
Lighting up the Australian blues scene, The Bella Reunion have a rich shared history spanning nearly 20 years. Steeped in the legacy of Chicago and Memphis blues with the timeless emotional spirit of the great Stax and Motown soul legends, this blistering original four-piece have been going from strength to strength since last year's festival. A must see this year!
Hold your breath. Frontwoman Tasha Zappala whirls her flaming hair out across a compound of original musical creation, animated rhythms merge to form a wholly unique sound. Swimming through a pond of deep sounds, tidal lyrics and electric skies, this band will have you floating.

Frank Sultana dwells comfortably in this vintage stylistic world, where the song is still king, and nothing beats a great story... His band, the Sinister Kids, are much like a family of transient musicians, and can vary on stage from Frank and a backing singer, to a 9 peice band..At its core, however are 4 talented young artists...

four inspired musicians formed Late For Woodstock in 1998 to bring these classic sounds and images back to live audiences.
The rumbling bass lines of Bernardo Lopes feverishly intertwine with innovative, soaring guitars of life long friend Manduka ‘Dukes’ Armando. The two Brazilian migrants fuse influence with the Australian born powerhouse Julian Lardis on drums and the eccentric energy of Tomi Gray on vocals.
Tony Cini’s Blues Explosion is coming to Mitchell Creek to showcase some of Australia’s top blues and roots acts supported by up-and-coming artists. Blues Explosion has featured some of the country’s premier blues and roots performers such as Chase the Sun, Ray Beadle, Marshall and the Fro, Gail Page, Darren Jack, Kim Churchill, just to name a few.
Fearlessly independent, the genre defying Hussy Hicks have followed a trail of possibilities, random twists and turns and discovered a musical world all of their own. Their influences are drawn from family record collections of old skool blues and country, and from their travels, combining a distinctly australian roots edge with european gypsy guitar, arabic rhythms and optimistic social commentaries.
It starts in your toes, a little twitch, which takes over your right foot. Suddenly your whole leg is thumping uncontrollably to the driving beat and you find yourself dragged to the dance floor. How anyone can resist the pull of a sound that’s been described as “Swampy, Stomp Jazz” is beyond comprehension.
Laura and the Blackjacks are a groovin', stompin' mix of style and charm. Be prepared to be whisked away to a time when suspenders were cool, and punters were not afraid to wiggle and jive to dapper buskers playing their blues away. Walking bass lines will cause your toes days of pleasure and Laura's lyrical style will make you sing in the shower like you're a diva in disguise.
It can take being away from home, long hours spent in transit, a lack of sleep and language barriers to make you realise how good our lives are in Australia. Riding the highs and lows of touring, Caravãna Sun, you could say had a big 2014. With the announcement of their 2015 summer tour ‘Under A Southern Sky’, next year is set to be an even bigger one yet.
Throughout their career, ‘The Floating Bridges’ have supported the likes of John Butler Trio, Katchafire, Jimmy Barnes, The Beautiful Girls and Kingswood, while performing at countless music festivals, including Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival and Big Pineapple Music Festival.
Moski Jo is a four piece Indie- Folk band from Brisbane with a dash of gyspy, blues and reggae. They put all their heart into meaningful lyrics and a captivating live performance, resulting in a passionate explosion of musical energy.
AGNES BLUE (Formerly known as Jack and The Bom) are a high energy 3 piece Rock/Roots band from the small beach side town of Agnes Water, QLD, made up of Family members Jack on Guitar and Vocals, Frea on Drums and Darren on Bass Guitar.
