Combining the legendary soul of the Stax and Motown era with the burning heat and power of the Chicago and Memphis blues, Blues Arcadia deliver an uninhibited old-fashioned soul stomp revival. Based in Brisbane, Australia, they were formed by Alan Boyle (vocals), Chris Harvey (guitar) and Jeremy Klysz (bass) together with Parmis Rose (keys) and Beck Flatt (drums) in early 2016.

Since their previous award-winning project The Bella Reunion, the songwriting partnership between vocalist Alan Boyle and guitarist Chris Harvey has gone from strength to strength, receiving three nominations and winning Best New Talent in the 2017 Australian Blues Music “Chain” Awards for their recently released debut EP. Engineered by Mike ‘Beachy’ Wild at The Barn Studios in rural Queensland, this is a blues record with a broad palette of colours and textures from jazz to Detroit soul. Recording live-to-tape meant true commitment to every moment of every song, capturing all the passion and excitement of the band’s live performances.

The first single “Corner Girls” was premiered on Triple J's Roots n' All and the EP has received airplay on community radio across the country, reaching #2 in the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts. It was Feature Album Of The Week with Steve Austin on ABC Brisbane and has also been featured on ABC Radio National's Daily Planet. From the joyous horn stabs on Operator Please to the plaintive minor key moan of “Corner Girls”, this collection of eclectic dirty soul-infused blues lives and breathes with an energy all of its own.
