Toby Wells is very quickly making a name for himself and is a regular fixture at cafes, bars, festivals and local markets on the Central Coast. His strong voice and impressive guitar skills display maturity and talent beyond his years. At 17 he has had an extraordinary year winning the 94one Today's Country Brand new Star Award, Australian Songwriters Conference Buskathon Grand Prize and Youth in Performing Arts Macron Music Scholarship.
Over the past couple of years he has played alongside some Australian greats. Thirsty Merc, Grizlee Train, 19Twenty, Alison Penney and PJ O'Brien.
Toby attends Narara Valley High School. He started playing guitar at age 11 at Rockgod Music School where he became captivated by 80's rock. Although he loves belting it out with a band, he also enjoys pared down acoustic versions of rock songs.
Presently he is working on his own music and has become a prolific song writer. Gina Jeffreys and Rod McCormack are assisting in this endeavour. Toby was also selected by the Talent Development Program run by the NSWArts Unit where he works very hard to develop his craft.
