Bitches Brew is carnival of young-ish souls brimming with some old time music, already setting stages a-light. Bitches Brew has been cooked up by trombonist/ vocalist Lisa Baird. The Melbourne veteran (Lily & King, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Lloyd Spiegel) has married some sensuous and oh-so-soulful original blues & roots compositions to a crack force of badass instrumental compadres, to birth a brand new force in Melbourne’s live music scene. Complemented by drummer Chelsea Allen (Great Aunt, Paris Plan), guitarist Stella Anning (SAT, Push Portal), bassist Sarah Holmes (Thando, SPIRE) and saxophonist Cheryl Durongpisitkul (Koi Kingdom, Australian Art Orchestra) Bitches Brew fuses deep blues and roots undercurrents with hip-hop and jazz elements, to bring audiences riveting, ecstatic performances.
