Matt Taylor and The Black Cat Bone

Blues legend Matt Taylor needs no introduction. His contribution to the Australian Blues is monumental. Recognised internationally for being a founder of the genre in Australia, Albert Collins said of him: "You play the blues, but it’s like no other blues I’ve ever heard in my life”. Indeed that unique style of the Blues has become part of the Australian psyche, embraced by our popular culture as early as 1971, when Mushroom Records released their first Number 1 hit, “Black & Blue” with Matt Taylor fronting “Chain”, a much in demand band he still performs with today with the guitar Legend, Phil Manning.

Phew! For twenty years, the musical idiom known as the blues has dominated Mojo's life. He plays and sings with all the commitment, passion and honesty of the greats of the blues. He sounds good, too!

Mojo spent six years on the road with Buzz & The Blues Band (‘92-'98), supplying his trademark guitar sound to that fantastic band's appearances all over Australia, including The East Coast Blues Festival as well as blues/jazz festivals in Lithgow, Bridgetown, Wangaratta, Bellingen and Thredbo among others.

Since then, Mojo has fronted his own bands and also performed solo. His stunning, ‘close-your-eyes-and-you-can't-believe-he's-a-little-white-boy' vocal delivery, incendiary guitar and harmonica playing and mostly his natural and engaging stage presence have earned him countless fans and admirers.
